about T.VERA

Vera was set up in 1994. Its brief was simple; to make challenging, innovative programmes that would be fun to make and fun to watch.

Since then the company has made around thirty shows a year that fulfil that brief in different ways and picked up critical reviews and awards; four BAFTAS, British Comedy Awards, RTS awards, Broadcasting Press Guilds, Writers Guild and South Bank Show gongs.

Last year, alongside two series of Bremner Bird and Fortune, the company produced two specials for More 4, two series of Don't Watch That Watch This For BBC4 and a Dispatches exposing loopholes in the arms trade for Channel 4.

Early this year a programme for the Timewatch strand, Beatlemania transmitted on BBC2, and a series of 10 x 10 minute Don't Watch That Watch This for BBC2 was TX'd at the end of February. We have already completed a further Rory series and a retrospective documentary, and a twelfth series of Rory is due for TX September/October this year.

Exec Producer Dean Palmer has recently joined Vera as Head of Development working alongside co-founder, writer and producer Geoff Atkinson. This confirms Vera as an attractive prospect for talent looking for a more personal relationship with the production company. Fully independent and led by the talent and shows it makes, its original remit stands as true to today as it was when the company was established.
